Dr. Eugene Thomas Kahn is an American Board of Surgery Certified General Surgeon. He also specializes in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Kahn treats a wide range of surgical diseases all over the body ranging from abdominal pain – gallbladder/gallstones – diverticulitis – adhesions/obstructions – colon – stomach – small bowel – cancer within the abdomen, to hernias of all types (groin, umbilical, epigastric, ventral/incisional, complex & hiatal) to anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures, pilonidal disease and skin tags. For these gastrointestinal and abdominal diseases, Dr. Kahn provides the latest surgical techniques and advancements in surgical care: he believes in a minimally invasive approach (laparoscopic or robotic surgery) for abdominal surgeries or advanced flaps for pilonidal disease. In addition to being a specialist in abdominal/gastrointestinal conditions, Dr. Kahn also performs removal of soft tissue masses like lipomas, cysts, cancers and drainage of abscesses. Dr. Kahn has also been trained in the placement of peritoneal dialysis catheter catheters, which he does laparoscopically/minimally invasively.
Dr. Kahn completed his undergraduate degree, cum laude, at New York University with a Bachelor of the Arts in Anthropology. He went on to receive his Masters of Biological Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey Medical School and his Medical Degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. His general surgery training was completed at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York City and University of California, Irvine. After his general surgery training, Dr. Kahn went into private practice in the Long Beach and Orange County area, where he enjoys providing excellent surgical care to his surrounding community. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Kahn now enjoys living in Southern California. He loves his wife & daughter the most, surgery second, dogs third and nature fourth.
Dr. Kahn manages surgical diseases with compassion and care in addition to advanced techniques, he believes in treating each patient as if they were a member of his family.
